Shopify App Data
When a merchant installs the Squirrel PCI Shopify app, Squirrel collects limited store-level information needed to connect the merchant’s Shopify store to their Squirrel PCI workspace. This may include the Shopify shop ID, shop domain, store name, primary domain, connection status, Squirrel workspace mapping, website asset mapping, monitor URL, timestamps, and diagnostic logs related to the connection.
The Squirrel PCI Shopify app does not request or collect Shopify customer records, order records, payment card data, payment credentials, or payment transaction details.
Squirrel uses the collected store-level information to connect the Shopify store to Squirrel PCI, organize PCI readiness documentation, map the store to a website asset, and support outside-in monitoring of visible storefront/cart/payment-flow surfaces.
Squirrel may retain operational records, audit records, evidence records, and compliance readiness records as part of the merchant’s Squirrel PCI workspace unless the merchant requests deletion or unless retention is required for legitimate compliance, security, legal, or operational purposes.
Squirrel implements Shopify’s required privacy webhooks, including customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact. Because the current Shopify connector does not store customer or order data, customer privacy webhook requests generally do not require customer-data export or deletion from the connector. Shop redaction requests remove local Shopify app connection data where applicable.
